Spring Backyard Lakehouse Intimate Wedding
New Hampshire in the spring is one of the most lovely and beautiful places on Earth if you ask me. There are flowers virtually everywhere you look, everything is bright and green, and afternoon rain relaxes and soothes the soul. When Sam’s father was diagnosed with a terminal illness the couple new they had to push their wedding up, and quickly, so Sam’s father could see his son get married. It was actually supposed to be their engagement party. Becca planned their nuptials at Sam’s family’s lake home in southern New Hampshire. The house has been in the family since it was built in the early 1900s, and has most of the original features still!
I was absolutely mesmerized when Sam took me for a tour of the home upon my arrival. Never did I expect such a beautiful and historic mansion to be the place they would get married. Becca planned their wedding with 50 of their closest family and friends in attendance in less than a month. I was beyond impressed at how she pulled it together up to the last minute. She contacted me only a week out and I was so excited to have the date available for her and Sam. The family was kind, thoughtful, and everyone worked together to make their day a success.
When it rains, it pours in the early summer in New Hampshire however. Right before walking down the aisle the skies opened up and it rained non-stop. The couple laughed it off and were so happy to just being saying I do with Sam’s dad in attendance. I was extremely happy for them as well. After the ceremony Sam, Becca, and I walked around the property and came upon an old chapel surrounded by flowers, then we went canoeing on the lake. I did not canoe, I jumped in and photographed with soaking wet pants. I was already wet from the rain so at that point I just wanted to have fun with it!
Becca smashed cake in Sam’s face before eating dinner with their family under their tent. It was an incredible day made possible by family and loved ones.
